Built for the people who live inside.
We spend on average 80% of our lives indoors. The materials in a building affect the air we breathe, the temperature we feel and our long-term health. At Soleta, every material selection starts with one question: is this good for the people who will live here?

No synthetic insulation
We use natural wood fibre insulation throughout. It regulates humidity, stores carbon and does not off-gas volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Conventional mineral wool and EPS insulation release particles and chemicals into the air over time — particularly in poorly detailed buildings.
Vapour-permeable construction
A Soleta wall breathes. The vapour-permeable membrane and natural insulation allow moisture to move through the wall assembly and escape — preventing the condensation and mould that are common in airtight buildings with synthetic membranes.
Formaldehyde-free adhesives
Our glulam structural elements use formaldehyde-free adhesives. Standard engineered timber products — including many glulam suppliers — use urea-formaldehyde adhesives that continue to off-gas for years. We specify only products that meet the strictest European indoor air quality standards.
97% organic materials
By mass, 97% of the materials in a Soleta home are of organic or natural origin — timber, wood fibre, natural finishes, stone. The remaining 3% is structural metal connections and glazing systems. At end of life, a Soleta home can be almost entirely recycled or composted.
